Stress #1
I felt the tremors from Sumatra's earthquake this noon.
Initially, i thought i was getting giddy because i was so DAMN hungry until my stomach growled.
Then someone i don't know but know my lady boss came knocking the door & say, " U all better leave now. Something really not right with this building. it's shaking, it's going to collapse!"
Already feeling sick from hunger, so when my boss say go down, I foolishly grabbed my entire bag with me.
No 1 except those of the same wing came down. After 10mins later, we all went back.
Everything remains unchanged except that i became the laughing stock. The kiasu-kiasi one who brought her big bag down. Great... how nice!
Seriously speaking, i was wandering did we over-react or other people just don't have the sense of emergency or 危机感 whatever you call it.
The tremors can be just a beginning phenomenon in Singapore. According to the theory of Plate Tectonics, it is very possible that Singapore may shift to the plate boundaries where volcanoes are formed & where earthquakes occurs. Before we know it, we are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Maybe by then , people will start to be aware of 危机感. it's definitely not the feeling when you can't squeeze into the Great Singpore Sale.
Stress #2
Exams is 2 weeks away & i'm only half done technically speaking.
With the study group meetings on 2 evenings + 1 day away at Ipoh on sat + a lunch sppointment on sunday... i feel so POWER-less.
There's basically no time at all. Thankfully my job allow me to settle some personal stuffs during office hours, like blogging (heehee), research & print readings out & sort out some discussions over emails.
I just realised my exam period coincides with the girls' birthday. That ought to teach me a lesson to prepare (for exams) earlier rather than feeling so kan cheong now. I thought i started really early but perhaps wasn't consistent enough.
Shit, I'm really in a dire situation. My hair is falling at exponential rate.
Nothing worse than this: WHITE HAIR!!!
Qi was so calm when she pluck the strand of white hair off my hair on 大年初一 while i was shrieking all over.
Sux... my maternal grandma never even had a strand of white hair when she passed away at 74. I'm only 22. Sianz... must be those years of hair dye-ing + perming + re-bonding 搞得鬼, 还是我真的老了。
Stressssssssssss.....
2 more weeks to go....
Things to do after exam: (1 week)
- Go dentist
- Go optician for new specs
- Get Irene before she might leave for study exchange in Japan
- Read/buy "1984" by George Orwell
